Heartstrings Day and Alumni Family Day 2009

This year, we're combining both Heartstrings Day and Alumni Family Day together! Come and join the Alumni in this fun and educational trip to Pulau Ubin.

As part of Heartstrings Day, we are also bringing a special group of underpriviledged students. We are appealing to all alumnus to consider sponsoring a child or two for this event. This will enable more students to join us at Pulau Ubin for an exciting outdoor classroom experience.

Date: Saturday, 27 June 2009
Time: 7.30am - 1.30am
Ticket Price: $18 per person - Includes tour fee (choose one below), one-way bumboat transport to Pulau Ubin, land transport within the island and refreshments before and after tour

Tour 1: Chek Jawa Shore Walk.

One of Singapore's richest ecosystems, Chek Jawa is a unique natural area where six major habitats meet and mix; Coastal Hill Forest, Mangroves, Rocky Shore, Sandy Shore and Sandbar, Sea Glass Lagoon and Coral Rubble Area. These ecosystems and the plants and animals found there are no longer common in Singapore. They are also fast disappearing elsewhere in the world.

Tour 2 : Sensory Trail
Experience Ubin's wonderful nature through your different senses along our Sensory Trail. The walk is easy-going and takes about 1½ hours to complete. As an excellent introduction to the rustic and natural character of the island, you will be able to touch, see or smell fruit trees, spices and herbs for cooking, plants used in traditional medicine and native plants of the mangrove forest.

Only limited places available. To apply for your participation or to sponsor the students, email familyday@pyssalumni.com by 13 June 2009.
